Macassar Ebony is a species of flowering tree in the family Ebenaceae that is endemic to the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. It is one of the rarer woods we use and is highly prized for its density... making it especially good for the crafting of musical instruments. Its Latin name is diospyros celebica. Diospyros  originally meant "fruit of the Gods" and is referenced in Ezekiel 27:15.
